Hello my lovely family and friends (and you never know, possibly family and friends of MY family and friends too). Well, I have held true to my word and I indeed have started a travel blog. (I know, I"m a bit impressed with myself as well. Let's hope I keep up with it)
So as I write I'm up over the Gulf of Alaska. I"m about 4 hours into my 15 hour flight to Taipei. So far this flight hasn't been too bad-slept for an hour (and unwittingly on my fellow passenger to my left,a quiet and quite surprised Chinese man. Oops. And I believe in my state of semi-conciousness I apologized to him in Spanish ;) Watched a cheesy romantic comedy (the best kind, right? This one included a dead wife and all. I'll admit it, I shed a tear or two). Ate a tasty airline meal ( I guess they do exist). And trying not to stare at the beautiful flight attendants as they go by. I just love their uniforms. Still looks like a flight attendants outfit BUT with a traditional Chinese flare. Love it! I want me one!
Well, as uneventful as this flight has been I can't say the same for the last 24 hours. Due to a possible crack in the windshield, Airtran bumped me, upgraded me, lost my luggage, gave me a free round trip ticket, and may have possibly found my luggage (time will tell if it shows up in Taipei. I ain't holding my breath.) All in a days traveling, right? If it is starting off this "well" wonder what the rest of the trip is going to be like ;) But I did get an extra evening with my parents out of it. We laughed almost to the point of crying. It was great. I felt like I was 10 agian!
My favorite part of the day was flying over the Rockys and the Grand Canyon. Stunning! I couldn't help but think what an wonderful gift this earth really is and what an amazing artist Jehovah is. Down close and personal or up overhead it always looks beautiful.
Well, that's all until I land. And I'll work on posting some photos ( Violette is helping me with that. I don't know what I'm doing)
Love you all!

Hey Mandy I am so glad you are doing a blog. If you ever do a scrapbook of your trip it will be great to look back at it. By the sounds of it you are enjoying yourself. Take it all in stride, make sure you always pack a change of clothes in your carry-on in case they lose your luggage again. I hope things run a little more smoothly for you and can't wait to see any pics you post. Abbey
