It Was All For You Kate and Kenya Kids

I'm about to board my Bangkok flight. 12 hours wasn't any time really for me to have an opinion at all about Taiwan. I know this sounds extremely cheesy but being here I do feel that as different as we all are we really are the same. Here I am on the other side of the globe and it is still so familiar. I guess I'm just surprised it doesn't feel that foreign. It still looks like earth outside and while I don't understand what anyone is saying, people are still friendly.
Well, the 15 hour flight. Not the most fun I've had in my life but not the worst day by far either. And surprisingly no jet lag. I think because I arrived at night and was able to go straight to bed. And woke up today feeling anew! China Airlines had a transit hotel it recommended for me to stay in for $50. I was half way expecting some dive right next to the airport. Not the case at all! It wasn't even near the airport! We were shuttled like 20 min away to a Golf resort. Interesting. Not that I was complaining for that price! Sure beat spending the night in the airport.
So this brief "stay" really made me want to visit China. It's never really been a place that I've thought of going. But there's such diversity. It's such a huge country with distinct culture. Only wish I could communicate. One day. And by that I mean when Jehovah unites all language groups because this girl knows her limitations in the language department :)
So...my luggage. Still to be determined if it will arrive to Bangkok or not. This really has been a reminder of why I want to stick with carry-on for this trip. (The China airlines checkin gal almost made me check in my backpack because of the weight. But after I demonstrated I could squeeze it in their display of "your carry-on must fit in here" she let it pass. Plus, I think she envied my trip :) My checked luggage with Kate's vitamins and the dollar store gifts for the Kenya kids has been the thorn in my side this trip. I've really had to put my "trust" in the airlines. Which is why I've accepted it probably won't turn up. I ask China airline about it and they have no idea. Well that's promising!
